Day 8: St. Augustine

It was a slow & rainy morning so we took our time & ate breakfast & lunch at the house. We headed back into St. Augustine in the afternoon to tour the Colonial Quarter (the kids loved it!) & walked around a little more before ending up at a Mexican restaurant for dinner.

I just really love going anywhere with them 🩷 I’ve been really slacking on finishing up our trip itinerary (I don’t like to post until we’re home!) so here’s Day 7:

We had another slow morning before heading over to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm & Zoological Park. It was really awesome & had so much more than I expected! Then we drove to the St. Augustine Lighthouse just to check it out- we decided not to go in. From there we went to the Conch Marina for lunch right on the water & it was delicious! Joe’s parents cooked us dinner at home & it was just a really nice night. I could have used another day like this!

Day 6: Crescent Beach, FL

There’s not much that makes me happier than a cup of hot coffee on the beach in the morning. The walk to the beach & over the dunes was beautiful! It was such a nice day this day & we were outside for most of it. We hung by the pool in the afternoon & used the putting green a lot (it was a little too chilly to swim) & then went to @Saltlifefoodshack_og for dinner. The food was delicious! If you go, definitely get dessert 🌊🍍

Day 5: St. Augustine

We had a leisurely morning & ate breakfast at home before getting ready to head into downtown St. Augustine. We parked in a garage in the historic district & it was the perfect location! We passed the Old City Gate & walked down St. George Street, a walking only street, to get to the Pirate & Treasure Museum. There were a ton of interactive parts for the kids & also a “treasure hunt” of sorts that they really enjoyed. We then wandered over to the Castillo de San Marcos to check it out from a closer distance but decided to walk around town instead of going inside. We grabbed lunch at a little seafood restaurant (where none of us got seafood 🍤 😂) & walked to Aviles Street, the oldest street in the U.S., to do an audio tour of the Ximenez-Fatio house that was really cool to see. Then we got ice cream at Tedi’s, stopped for a quick coffee, & went to Meehan’s Irish Pub for dinner. It was a fun day!
