Hi my name is Lauren and too often, I tie my worth to my productivity šš¼ I donāt think I was aware of this until I started learning about the enneagrams (I am an enneagram 3) and going to therapy, but manā¦ itās true.Ā
ā¢
For example, I got super anxious Thursday because I hadnāt gotten groceries yet and my email and DM inboxes were floodedā¦ and then yesterday, I got down on myself for having a long work to do list and not getting any blog posts up this week (including the bathroom organization post - that will be up Monday, I promise!).
ā¢
But, in the past week, we closed on our first home, painted the whole main room (living area/dining area/kitchen), moved all of our stuff over, unpacked pretty much everything, and even organized a bunch. Is that unproductive?

I think itās easy to be hard on ourselves, especially this year. The pandemic has shown how many jobs can vanish in an instant, so thereās a desire to work extra hard - because of both gratitude for the opportunity and a desire to prove ourselves.
And on top of that, every emotion is complicated right now! If we feel sad, we think we shouldnāt because others have it worse... but if we feel happy, we feel guilty because so many people are suffering right now.
ā¢
But the truth is, even with the world being the way it is this year, we should allow ourselves to present and happy. Those moments are what life is actually about. And thatās how we recharge our motivation to grow, be better, and move forward. I figured if I needed this reminder, maybe someone else out there did, too ā¤ļø

Can anyone else relate to this? Iād love to hear your thoughts!!
