There’s a certain dress style I found that is flattering on so many clients, and I'm seeing them everywhere right now - yay! You know the dresses that have an elastic waistband with a blouse-y top and an a-line skirt on bottom? It's hard to explain, but hopefully you can tell by the graphic. They work so well on so many different clients because they effortlessly give a flattering waistline (and we all know sometimes it’s hard to achieve a waistline without a lot of effort- belts, sloppy tucks, etc). Plus, because this elastic waistband often has gathered fabric above and below, it disguises lot, so it’s forgiving. The only thing to keep in mind is how big the elastic waistband is. Sometimes if the band is thick, it can hug the mid section. I recently worked with a client to help her find a variety of these dresses, and I found a whole bunch for her to choose from.
